Problem

Washington on the Brazos, recognized as the birthplace of Texas, where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed, underwent a major renovation and site redevelopment project. Public reporting confirms the renovation was part of an over $50 million effort to modernize the historic site and museum experience.

As part of this broader transformation, the museum required a new signage and graphic system that could support visitor navigation, historical interpretation, and donor recognition within a complex, multi-surface exhibit environment.

The Solution

We partnered with Design and Production Inc. (D&P), who led the museum renovation project, to produce and install a wide range of new signage and exhibit graphics across the site.

Our scope included:

  • Custom dimensional letters
  • Acrylic wayfinding signage
  • Donor recognition graphics
  • Vinyl exhibit graphics
  • Custom display graphics

This was a multi-surface implementation that required close coordination between exhibit design teams, museum and fabrication teams, field installation crews, and other construction partners on site. Each component needed to align with the museum’s narrative goals while maintaining consistency across different materials, mounting conditions, and exhibit zones.

Final Impact

The completed signage and graphic package supports the museum’s renewed visitor experience by improving navigation, enhancing exhibit storytelling, and integrating recognition elements into the space in a clean, intentional way.

By delivering a coordinated mix of wayfinding, interpretive, and donor recognition graphics, the project helped translate the renovation vision into a functional and engaging on-site experience for visitors.
